Remember, Weingarten Rights are only granted to union members. Click on the image below for the language of your Weingarten Rights.
My question would be what happened to the cashier that rang the order up? Were they terminated as well? On another note.
Know Your Rights As a union member, you are protected by what is known as a “collective bargaining agreement,” which is a contract that your employer is required by law to follow. Every contract must be passed with a majority “yes” vote by the union membership for which it covers. A contract spells out in writing your benefits and working conditions, all of which are negotiated for. Knowing your rights on the job is a very important aspect of belonging to a union.

For example, if an employee takes a leave of absence under the family and medical leave of absence policy, the time off shall be charged against the maximum time off available under that policy.

I have another meeting coming up and i wanted to see if i could read over the Employee Purchase Policy to see if i am truly at fault for not checking my receipt, and if i find that nothing of that nature is stated i want to use that in my defense at my next meeting. If anyone knows where i could get a hand on the policies, whether i can find them on the internet or elsewhere, i would greatly appretiate it. Best Answer: You should have been provided with a copy of the employee handbook at the time you were hired. The company will not readily keep this info available on the internet, but rather on their own private intranet, so you would have a really tough time accessing it. Try asking one of your previous co-workers, or your union rep if they either have, or can get a copy of for you. Also, you can request that the company provide a copy of it during your last meeting with them. It should be considered as a professional courtesy on there part, but it is not a requirement as long as they provided you with a copy during your employment.

I was short exactly 5 cents on my order and the cashier, who i am friendly with, told me it was all set and he would take care of it. Assuming he just put a nickle in the drawer, i thought everything was all set. A few minutes after i made my purchase, i was called into my managers office where i was told that the receipt showed the 5 cent discount that was put in for me without my knowledge. I have been told by my manager that it should have been my responsibility as an associate to check my receipt to make sure everything was paid for properly. I agree with that but i think it is ridiculous that i lost my job because i did not look at my receipt. Many people that i work with hardly even take the receipt after making a purchase, never mind check it over. I have attended 2 meeting so far with my manager, Union representative, as well as a member of the company's human resource department.
