Recently someone asked about getting multires working with Diablo II 1.13c, and I remembered that about 6 months ago I had spent a day. This unofficial 'patch' allows you to play Diablo II in resolutions other than 640x480 and. And then MultiRes normally. I'm using 1.13c of Diablo and 1.02 of.

It should start the game and generate a log file. You can't change the res in-game in a non-LoD Diablo II install because there is no resolution button, so exit the game. Look in the D2MultiResLog.txt log file (in your Diablo II folder). It should have a bunch of resolutions it found.

It works fine on my computer, but I think it's because (for some reason) I don't have to use the PlugY executable to play D2 with the huge stash - I can just use the normal D2 executable. I'm not entirely sure what I did, as I installed PlugY normally, and then MultiRes normally. Anyway, a quick response would be greatly appreciated, as my friend and I want to play with both PlugY and MultiRes enabled. On a side note, however: @uzisniper There are warnings all over the internet not to use this mod on bnet, and it's just common sense NOT to use a mod on bnet at all. That is normal!! If you have glitches with directdraw and using windows vista/7 due to windows aero effects etc.

You shouldn't notice any major drawbacks for using DirectDraw over Direct3D, so for most users this probably won't be a problem. To run, start D2MultiResGame.exe. This mod not only works on Vista and Windows 7, it actually runs faster. I speculate this is due to Superfetch. I'm not really sure but there is no denying it runs better on Vista/7 during heavy fighting.

The downloaded 'patch' should consist of 4 files: • D2MultiRes.txt • D2MultiResGame.exe • D2MultiRes.dll • D2MultiRes.mpq To install, simply copy D2MultiResGame.exe, D2MultiRes.dll and D2MultiRes.mpq to your Diablo II directory. You do not need to copy over or replace any of your files, and none of your files will be changed. At the moment, D2MultiRes only supports the GDI (windowed mode) and DirectDraw graphics plugins. If you are using Glide you'll almost certainly crash. If you're using Direct3D you'll be able to run Diablo II, but expect to see some funky graphic glitches while playing the game. To switch to DirectDraw, run D2VidTst.exe (found in your Diablo II directory) and choose the DirectDraw option.

Run regedit, search for 'D2RMRes'. Its parent folder should be 'Diablo II'. Change its value to that number you remembered. The number is a decimal number. Close regedit, and rerun the D2MultiResGame exe. Recently someone asked about getting multires working with Diablo II 1.13c, and I remembered that about 6 months ago I had spent a day and half figuring out how and was finally able to get it working. I searched around my HDD today and found the modified D2 1.13c multires install, so I retraced my steps and figured out how to do it from scratch. I grabbed the D2 multires files off some website, don't remember which one, but that's ok because you won't need to do the same, simply download the instructions below.

I really do love me some Diablo 2, so much so 2-3 times a year I'll do a massive co-op runs with my mates, and have done so ever since its release. The problem is the game is old, and my pc is well. Because of our humanly ways to keep making advancements in the field of computing its getting quite difficult to come back to a game who's highest resolution is 800x600. As that size be tiny yo.

This problem is in the MPQ format so the only solution to go to previous versions is to get Diablo from somewhere else. Whether we'll be able to create some sort of script to convert these MPQ files is still unknown. We can only hope. And big respect to blizzard for releasing a virtually empty patch and giving a big part of their D2 community the middle finger. If at least they had done something worth mentioning, such as resolution improvements and what not. 6 years and we get a 'shiny new mac installer' that doesn't even work. Either way, we have dealt with them before and we will continue to do so.

You can follow instructions on downgrading. - But macro, I just downloaded 1.14a from Battle.net, what do? We are working on a solution for this - but it is not something that can be fixed by median itself.

Kudos to the creator(s) for a great mod! Is there a way to get this to run with PlugY?
